The Beaufort County School District has funding to design a rebuilt/renovated Hilton Head Island High School as part of the 2019 Referendum. A feasibility study was completed in 2022 examining how such a rebuild/ renovation could occur and keep students in the current school, confirming the current building location was best for instructional efficiency.

In 2023, Little Diversified Architecture was hired by the Board for the school's architectural design. The lead architect, Don Baus, and his team of architects have met several times with the School Improvement Council (SIC), parents, teachers students, and other community stakeholders to engage in conversations about the design and function of the new school to meet multiple needs and to be a safe and engaging place for students to learn.

The presentation here shows the design work to date and offers a vision of how the exterior could look. As with any construction project, there may be variations between the rendering and the final product due to practical considerations, evolving plans, and supply chain constraints. Floor plans have been reviewed with key instructional staff for feedback.

We invite you to review and comment on this project. The funding to complete this project will be part of the 2023 Bond Referendum going to the public vote on November 7, 2023.
