FY 2023-24 Budget Preparation & Feedback
Consultation has concluded
The Beaufort County School District (BCSD) is in the beginning stages of planning the FY 2023-24 budget and requests public feedback. BCSD, like many others across the nation, will be facing some unique challenges in the upcoming year. We are entering our final year of Federal ESSER funds. Planning for the transition away from this additional funding will require prioritizing resources and identifying alternative funding for successful initiatives. Additionally, we are facing unprecedentedly rising costs for services, supplies, and compensation.
State and local funds will be needed to sustain the gains we have made in compensation and to keep us at a competitive level. We continue to be optimistic that the state legislature will provide additional funding to support teachers’ salaries and other state mandates. As we compile your feedback, we will look for common themes to incorporate into our budget priorities.

Increased STEAM time/funding
RRA has a fantastic STEAM program, increasing the resources available to the faculty running these programs could be great.

District wide cell phone policy
Phones and social media are the demise of our kid's generation. The District needs to create a strong phone policy that still allows kids to have their phone at school but strongly discourages the use of it during the school day. Ensure that ALL schools within the district follow this policy

Helping the community
I believe that as a community that we should be able to provide the school with clothes and shoes that may not fit our children anymore not just uniforms because I see so many kids that don’t have jackets etc. and it’s freezing cold outside .There’s a lot of parents who are struggling financially to provide for their children. We should be able to support our community anyway we can ! . All the other comments that I have read, I agree with 100% .The biggest thing is us coming together as a community supporting each other . Not to mention our schools needs to put GOD BACK IN OUR SCHOOLS . He is the only one that will turn this around if we let him .

Fix pick up line for schools
All schools should have car access to 100% of the time. Forgot about going to any of the schools from 200 on. Your kid is sick? Forget about it. Bluffton elementary and McCracken is a complete nightmare.
